On April 25, 2027, Emolas Corporation brings Georgian on My Mind to Los Angeles, featuring pianist Giorgi Gigashvili and singer Nini Nutsubidze in a program that places Georgian musical tradition at the center of the classical stage.
Born in Tbilisi in 2000, Gigashvili is an internationally recognized pianist who, alongside his classical career, also works on vocal and experimental projects. A First Prize winner at the Vigo International Piano Competition under jury president Martha Argerich, he went on to win the Hortense Anda-Bührle Special Prize at the Géza Anda Competition, First Prize and the Audience Prize at KlavierOlymp Bad Kissingen, and Second Prize at the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition. He currently studies with Kirill Gerstein in Berlin.
Formed with Nutsubidze, a singer, songwriter, and producer, in 2020, Georgian on My Mind brings Western classical music and Georgian folklore together, weaving Georgian folk song into direct conversation with works by composers such as Chopin, Bartók, Scarlatti, Beethoven, and Brahms. The program made its debut at the Beethovenfest Bonn as part of Gigashvili's 2024 fellowship there, and has since been performed at Hamburg's Elbphilharmonie, Vienna's Konzerthaus, and Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, among other major stages.
