From April 16 through 18, 2027, the State Ballet of Georgia brings its acclaimed production of Swan Lake to the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center, presented by Emolas Corporation.
Based at the Z. Paliashvili Opera and Ballet State Theatre in Tbilisi, the State Ballet of Georgia traces its roots to some of the country's earliest ballets, in a tradition shaped over generations by artists including Vakhtang Chabukiani and Giorgi Aleksidze. Since 2004, Nina Ananiashvili, one of the great ballerinas of her generation, has led the company; her career spanned the Bolshoi Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and Houston Ballet before she returned to her native Georgia to rebuild the company at the invitation of the country's leadership. Under her direction, the State Ballet of Georgia has staged more than sixty ballets and toured internationally, including its United States debut and its first-ever performances in London, where its Swan Lake - choreographed by Alexei Fadeyechev and Ananiashvili - was presented fifteen times at the London Coliseum.
Set to Tchaikovsky's iconic score, Swan Lake remains the company's signature production, showcasing the technical precision and dramatic depth that have defined Georgian ballet on the world stage.
The David H. Koch Theater, home of the New York City Ballet, has hosted dance at Lincoln Center since its opening in 1964. Designed by architect Philip Johnson, the 2,586-seat theater is one of the premier stages in the United States for classical and contemporary ballet.
